What We Do
2009 Info
Wiener Tales and wienerraces.com are proud to be the coordinators for Pacific Northwest Wiener Dog Race events to benefit Dachshund Rescue. As of now, we hold two annual events and are hoping to have at least one more added soon.  Northwest Wienerfest has been officially announced! We also work with the Seattle Seahawks every year to hold a Halftime Rescue Race that showcases our winning and rescue dogs. All events typically last all day, and offer fun for everyone. Contests are a great way to take part without racing. Browse through our site for information about our different fundraisers, Dachshund Rescue, other events around the United States, or general information about the Dachshund breed.
October 10th 2010 * Oktoberfest Northwest * Puyallup Fair & Events Center * 12 - 6 pm
For Oktoberfest, dogs must be pre-registered for a contest or race to enter the venue.
Northwest Wienerfest in Western Washington! Mark your calender for 07/31/10 and 08/01/2010 at Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds. New event at Yelm Prairie Days on June 26th!
Thanks to Oktoberfest NW and everyone who took part in 2009, we were able to raise over $1,100 for National and Local Dachshund Rescues!

Congratulations to our big Oktoberfest (and Mossyrock) winner, Cash Black from Oregon! He won our grand prize of $150, a collectible goodie bag, and 2 nights at Mt. Baker Lodgings. He came in close at the Seattle Seahawks game on the 8th. He will be the dog to beat in 2010!

The winners of our Seahawks Halftime event were Lucy Lu, for the 3rd
consecutive year, and Dobby (our 2007 Race Champion), who was our
first Race for Rescue winner at Qwest Field. Our top 5 winners
from Octoberfest & Wienerfest go to the Seahawks game to compete
in the halftimeshowcase and we choose 6 lucky rescue dogs
to compete in the Race for Rescue.

NORTHWEST WIENERFEST

WHY WAS THE TRACK SO SHORT?
The track at our events is short (about 35 feet), because Dachshunds are not meant to run long distances. Due to their special size they have a high risk for back injuries. Though we want to provide fun and entertainment, our utmost concern is the dogs and their health. This event is put on for Dachshund rescue, to inform people about the special needs of Doxies, the danger of puppy mills, and to allow doxie owners to get together, get to know each other, and celebrate our special breed.
It should be noted that our events in no way represents gambling or any kind of professional racing event. It is purely for fun and enjoyment, as well as raising awareness about puppy mills and Dachshund Rescue.
