Where and When
What We Do
2009 & 2010 Info
Wiener Tales and wienerraces.com are proud to be the coordinators for Pacific Northwest Wiener Dog Race events to benefit Dachshund Rescue. Northwest Wienerfest 2010 was a HUGE success!! We also work with the Seattle Seahawks every year to hold a Halftime Rescue Race that showcases our winning and rescue dogs. All events typically last all day, and offer fun for everyone. Contests are a great way to take part without racing. Browse through our site for information about our different fundraisers, Dachshund Rescue, other events around the United States, or general information about the Dachshund breed.
August 6th 2011 * Woofstock * Todd Field * University of Puget Sound * 10 am - 4:30 pm
October 9th 2011 * Oktoberfest Northwest * Puyallup Fair & Events Center * 11 - 5 pm
For Oktoberfest, dogs who are not participating in a contest or race will NOT be allowed in to the venue.
NW Wiener Races is looking for events in Dec and Feb to take part in for a Wiener Wonderland and Love of Doxies. Please contact us if you have any suggestions.
Thanks to Oktoberfest NW and everyone who took part in 2010, we were able to raise over $1,200 for National and Local Dachshund Rescues!

Congratulations to our big Oktoberfest Champ Nico McDonnell! He won our grand prize and will be the dog to beat in 2010!

The winner of our 2010 Seahawks Halftime event was Otto Edick!
Our top 5 winners
from Octoberfest 2010 & Wienerfest 2011
will go to a Seahawks game to compete
in the halftime showcase in 2011.

NORTHWEST WIENERFEST

WHY WAS THE TRACK SO SHORT?
The track at our events is short (about 35 feet), because Dachshunds are not meant to run long distances. Due to their special size they have a high risk for back injuries. Though we want to provide fun and entertainment, our utmost concern is the dogs and their health. This event is put on for Dachshund rescue, to inform people about the special needs of Doxies, the danger of puppy mills, and to allow doxie owners to get together, get to know each other, and celebrate our special breed.
It should be noted that our events in no way represents gambling or any kind of professional racing event. It is purely for fun and enjoyment, as well as raising awareness about puppy mills and Dachshund Rescue.
