2008 EVENT RULES AND INFO
* You must be pre-registered no later than 10/04/2008 by 7pm!
Registering online is available until 10/02/08 at midnight, or until our race spots are filled up. We are accepting up to 100 dogs for a maximum of 10 heats and one final race.
* Only Dachshunds that are registered for a race, contest, or our costume parade will be allowed into the fairgrounds. Limit one dog per 2 humans. If you woulk like to enter more than one dog, and have enough family members, you may do so, as long as their is at least one person for each additional dog. Registration must be made seperately for each dog, and includes entry for 2 people to Oktoberfest NW Family Day.
* All dogs must be of at least 4 months of age and older and have had their current boosters!
* All dogs must have 2 people to race, 1 as a releaser and one as a catcher. If you need someone to help you, let us know and we will ask the crowd or get one of our staff members to assist you.
* Absolutely NO throwing your dog on to the track, they must be held until the "GO" and just let go at that point.
* Only Dachshunds may enter the race event, sorry. We may offer an all small dog race at future events.
* Please keep your pet on a leash at all times until it is your turn to race!
* DO NOT LEAVE ANY ANIMALS IN YOUR CAR!! Event staff will have the right to involve the proper authorities if we feel an animal is at risk. Due to health code restrictions this year, we will be offering a free kennel care station. If you bring your dog's vari-kennel, we will have a staffed and safe area for you to leave them, if you would like to enjoy some of the food and festivities inside the Oktoberfest NW building. We are okay with people leaving their dogs in a motorhome, with food and water available. Motorhome parking is available all weekend in designated fairground parking areas.
* Please be sure your animal is current on DHPP, Rabies, and (suggested) Bordetella vaccines. Parvo and Kennel Cough are highly contagious to young and older dogs, but can even affect a seemingly healthy dog on occasion!

This is an event to raise money and allow Wiener Dog fans to get together and laugh at our silly little, (and sometimes not so little) guys! Please take a lighthearted approach at these events, we all want to have fun whether we are a Wiener, Winner, or both!
